A fun family Labor Day weekend

We travelled to California for Labor Day weekend this year. We started out by taking a much needed trip to visit with Jake's side of the family in Lancaster. We stayed with his Granny and Granpda Goble, who are always wonderful hosts, and also spent some time with his Grandpa and Grandma on the Fielden side of the family.

On Labor Day we left Lancaster and drove about two hours down to Anaheim to spend a couple days at Disneyland. After our drive, we went to the Anaheim Gardenwalk for lunch (Cheesecake Factory, yummm), spent the afternoon swimming and relaxing, and then went to Downtown Disney for dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. We woke up the next morning and had out big day at the Disneyland park. The boys loved it -- Micah LOVED meeting the characters and Caden, funnily enough, really enjoyed the rides. Fortunately, since we went to the park the day after Labor Day the crowds were pretty reasonable. We didn't wait in line for anything for more than about 20 minutes, which was wonderful considering the boys limited patience. Although, I must say, they were both troopers for just about our entire vacation -- they did great job at Disney (it helped that we paused for a nap midday), in the truck during all of the driving, and even tolerated short naps and late nights like champs.

It was wonderful to spend time together as a family!
