Snow Snow Snow SNOW!

A week or so ago (+) we were bombed with about 18 inches of snow! We were snowed in for a couple days, but it sure was fun. Here are some pics of Micah and Jake's snow adventures...

The doggies loved it too!

And it kept snowing!

Thanksgiving Weekend in Lake Havasu City

The Gobles and the Shreiners gathered together for a yummy Thanksgiving dinner and stayed together to celebrate for the weekend. We had a great time! It is fun to see Micah and Nathan play together as they grow. The two boys even had their first sleepover, as Micah and Nathan shared a bedroom for the first time. Overall they did just great! Nathan was also very interested in helping out with his baby cousin, Caden, feeding him bottles and pushing him in the swing. As always, we had trouble departing as planned on Sunday morning - can't wait 'til next time!

Jingle Bell Rock!

Take a moment to view Micah's rockin' musical debut... ummm, we think he is excited for Christmas! :-)

Our little jumping bean!

Caden has turned a very cute corner lately and has started jumping like crazy in his Jumperoo! It is so funny to see such a tiny guy bouncing around non-stop! Take a look for yourself...

A head start on Christmas with the Polar Express!

With all of our family in town for Micah's birthday, we decided to drive out to Williams (only about 20 minutes away) and get on the Polar Express. The Grand Canyon Railway runs trains between Williams and the Grand Canyon all year long, but each November thru January they run a special train, the Polar Express, for kids and families to venture to the North Pole and meet Santa. They serve cookies and hot chocolate during the train ride, sing Christmas Carols, read the book "The Polar Express" and Santa even comes on board to give each child a sleigh bell. We had a fabulous time! Micah was absolutely mesmerized, as was his cousin Nathan. Micah has been singing Jingle Bells almost non-stop since the trip ended! Caden was actually very interested in all of the commotion, but fell asleep for the ride home from the North Pole. He'll love it when we go again a few years from now!

Since we got such an early start on Christmas, it is hard to fight the urge to just go ahead and put up our Christmas Tree right now! We will probably hold off until Thanksgiving weekend and just appease ourselves with carols in the meantime.

Micah's 2nd Birthday

We had a birthday party for Micah on Saturday. It was a lot of fun! He wasn't too sure what a birthday was before the party, but figured it out quickly. He loved being the center of attention - as always - and was thrilled to learn the Happy Birthday song. He is also loving all of his new toys which makes us excited to see what he thinks of opening presents on Christmas morning this year.

Halloween 2007

Halloween was a bit threatened for us this year by a yucky stomach flu, but Micah and Whitney managed to be well in time for the fun. Micah dressed up as a monkey (he was SO cute!) and went trick-or-treating around the whole block with his daddy. He was a bit nervous about going door to door at first, but got the hang of it by the end and was even persuading neighbors to share extra pieces of candy. Unfortunately, Caden was still sick, so he swapped dressing up in his pea costume for sleep and relaxation. Jake and Whitney are enjoying the candy that Micah brought home to share :-)!

Our first post - A BIG YEAR!

2007 has been a big year for the Goble Family!

To our great relief, "Dr. Jake" masterfully completed his Ph.D. in Bioengineering from ASU. The degree came with many ups and downs, but was well worth it. The completion was both exciting and stressful - needless to say, we are all happy to have moved on! We were ready for the education portion of our life to fully come to a close. He has been working as a Product Specialist with W.L. Gore & Assoc. (medical division) since June. The job is challenging, rewarding, and BIG (as he is continually reminded). He is loving the position and the company - we have hopes to stay with them for quite some time, God willing. Along with the job came a move to the Flagstaff, AZ area - we are loving it! No more Phoenix heat!

Whitney wrapped up her job as ASU Bioengineering Internship Coordinator at the beginning of June... a good job, but it was definitely time to move on to better things. That being said, she is thoroughly enjoying her new career as fulltime stay-at-home mommy! It is a lot of work (much harder than a "real" job actually), but comes with such great reward. Smiles and love everyday - even in the midst of the emerging terrible twos.

Mommy and Caden

Micah became a BIG BRO as we joyfully welcomed Caden Scott to the world on June 29th! He is growing everyday and loves to learn. We count to 20 and play with letters everyday - we have no choice, he makes us do it! ;-) He is quite the little ham - loves to sing, dance and be the center of attention. Other than letters, numbers, and singing, Micah LOVES Sesame Street, Barney (to Mom's dismay), Blue's Clues, and Kermit the Frog.

Caden is a sweetie pie and an adorable smiler. He gives the best grins every morning when he wakes up. Hard to believe, but it looks like he is already teething (much sooner than his big bro did), and is even trying to sit up on his own... I think he still has some muscle building to do before he meets that goal. He is a happy boy, but seems to be a bit more "all business" than his brother.

Caden

More soon with updates on Halloween, Caden's 4th month, Micah's big 2nd birthday, and the Polar Express!
