Sara's Visit

Seriously, this summer has been filled with blessings beyond measure.  We have had a chance to see such special family and friends that we see far too rarely.  One of our specialist guest was from Sara Rust, my BFF from High School days.  Oh how I love her!  Amazing how time just doesn't matter between real friends.  Seeing each other is always like coming home!

Garden: Take Two

The last time we tried to plant a vegetable garden did not go so well.  Just as things were turning ripe, it was all torn up by the tornado that came through our property in Oct. 2010.  It was such a shame... and so sad to see smashed tomatoes and bell peppers scattered through our yard! 

Well, time for take two.  I worked very hard to create a new little garden bed next to our house.  On the agenda this year... cucumbers, yellow bell peppers, sweet heat peppers, honey bear acorn squash and strawberries!

**Update:  While we did get to enjoy some of the sweet heat peppers (they were tasty!) and a few strawberries, our beautiful garden was destroyed by a nasty hail storm that came down in August.  :(  So disappointing!  Maybe I need to invest in a small backyard greenhouse?

Grace Group 4th of July

After being gone for more than three weeks in Florida, it was such a joy to catch up with our Grace Group friends on the 4th of July.  We all went to the parade together in downtown Flag and then enjoyed a picnic lunch and lots of playing with the kids at nearby Wheeler Park.  We are so blessed by these wonderful friends!  What a fun day!
