So, Jake and I were 7 years old. I was still living in Roselle, IL where I attended Keenieville Elementary and Waterbury Elementary for K thru 3rd grade. Eventually my family moved to Winfield, IL where we stayed from the time I was in 4th grade until I finished 8th grade. I guess I consider the time in Roselle as my true childhood - where I learned to ride a bike, and was part of Brownies and Girl Scouts. I remember many Christmas mornings there - sleeping in my parent's bedroom because I was afraid of Santa - enduring the chicken pox, Easter egg hunts, chasing after the ice cream man music with my dad, taking dance classes, and playing on a teeball team -- lots of fun kid stuff. I believe Jake's family was still located in California at this time - they moved to Payson, AZ just a couple years later after his youngest sister Patty was born. Here are a few youth pics...

Kind of a statement don't ya think?

1998 was the start to our senior year in high school. I attended the American Community School (ACS) in Cobham, England. My family was transferred to the UK just before I began high school in 1995. I can honestly say that, to date, this was one of the most incredible times of my life. Most people say that about college, but not me -- it was during this time that I met and developed some of the greatest friendships in my life, began to personally seek out my faith, and took part in some amazing travels with my school and family. I also spent a lot of time involved in drama and music (choir) at ACS. Jake attended Payson High School, and from what I hear, really didn't have the love for HS that I had ;-). He was actively invovled in his church/ youth ministry and loved to play and coach soccer.
Oh, and did I mention that Jake wore a white tux to his senior prom?

So, 2003 was a huge year. Jake graduated from U of A with a bachelors in Biosystems & Agricultural engineering, while I graduated from Butler U. with a bachelors in Sociology (emphasis Social Work). We had met in Myrtle Beach, S.C. during the summer of 2002 on a summer project with Campus Crusade for Christ. We moved fast -- started dating on July 24, 2002, were engaged by November 10, 2002, and married July 26, 2003. When you know, you know! Following our July marriage, we honeymooned in Cancun, and then moved into an apartment in Tempe, Arizona where Jake began his graduate degree adventure (or should I say nightmare?) at ASU. I quickly delved into a job search, turning down an offer as a social worker with CPS, and eventually was hired at ASU as the Bioengineering Dept. Internship Coordinator in 2004. We also bought our first pup, Ariel, in September of 2003. Wrigley joined our family a little more than a year later.

Well, another big year really. Not only did our first nephew arrive to the world, but we also became parents for the first time with the arrival of our Micah Andrew!

2007 was jam-packed! Jake completed his PhD in Bioengineering, Micah had his first swim lessons, our second son, Caden Scott, was born, I gleefully quit my job at ASU, and we moved to Flagstaff so Jake could begin his job with WL Gore & Associates. We also quickly found a church home at Grace Community Church and a small group, called a Grace Group, that meets weekly and is comprised of church members that live in our neighborhood (and area). We feel so blessed. Good friends, Elliott and Andrea, also agreed to be God-parents to our boys and effectively "joined the family".

Today...
Well, these days I am a stay-at-home mama to Micah and Caden. We take part in a biweekly playgroup which is wonderful for both the boys and a great chance for Mama to be with some women friends. Jake is working hard at Gore and is truly loving his job. He travels a bunch, but is never bored at work and seems to enjoy most of his colleagues. Micah is just recently potty trained to our great joy, and Caden is a curious 1 year old, trying explore the world and eager to be just like his big brother. We are loving our new church here and are enjoying many wonderful friendships through our aforementioned Grace Group. Jake recently joined the worship team and is enjoying stretching his musical wings again -- thus far, he has sang and played the piano. He is hoping they will ask him to play the guitar at some point, since that is what he enjoys most.
Tomorrow...
Preschool is probably the next big thing hitting the Goble house. We are hoping to see Micah begin in January at the start of the new year. As always, we lay ourselves out in God's hands and look forward to whatever he has next for us.
Next year...
Who knows, really??? Maybe we will see a third Goble child in the works (a girl, of course ;-)) or maybe not. I am sure Jake's job will continue to progress. We are thankful, in this economy, that Jake currently has a job that is safe and secure. Again, we are looking to God and excited to whatever he may bring our way!
