Andrea, Elliott, and Baby Downing came to visit us at the end of August/beginning of September for a week. It was wonderful spending time with great friends, as always. Some highlights of the visit: We celebrated Andrea's 30th birthday with Thai food and homemade dark chocolate cake, went on a day trip to Sedona, the girl's won pinnochle (was there really any doubt!?), the Downings dominated in Settler's though Jake did win some too, we had a doubledate to Oregano's (always yummy!) and went to see "Julie & Julia" which was great, the boys were in rare form testing us all... I think I've decided that they were putting A & E through an intense week long parent training program (at least that is what I have convinced myself of to account for their behavior), Jake and Elliott abandoned Bond and worked heartily on X-Men on the XBOX, I got kicked by Baby Downing (yay!), we enjoyed a nice Saturday BBQ with some of A & E's friends from Phoenix, we tested out a cheesecake shop in town called Caked (we tried peanut butter, german chocolate, and turtle) to discover that it was DELICIOUS, and Jake joyfully broke in the contents of his homebar by experimenting with making different cocktails for us all (sans Andrea, of course, who stuck to water and tea). We had a great time! Can't wait for the next visit!
