Our Easter trip to Tampa, FL

We were very blessed to spend the last two weeks visiting my side of the family in Tampa, FL. It had been over two years since our last trip out there, so it was much overdo and a very welcome vacation for our family. We arrived on Good Friday "Eve" which meant we got to enjoy a full Easter weekend with everyone right off the bat. My cousin Barry and his wife Leslie joined us that weekend (and the next as well!) which made for a lot of extra fun - we dyed eggs, ate yummy food, napped, and played with the boys. Micah especially loved his first Easter egg hunt before we headed to church - a fun way for him to wake up on Easter morning. Since Caden is still a bit small to egg hunt, he played with his gift from the Easter Bunny.

Mid-trip we ventured out to the Tampa Zoo. We all enjoyed the time outdoors, and Micah really enjoyed seeing all of the animals. He has been to a few other zoos before, but this was the first time he was old enough to really get into things. He still talks about a bear that was sleeping when we were there. My dad had recently had knee replacement surgery, so my mom, Jake and I took turns pushing he and Micah - who road in his lap nearly the whole afternoon - in a wheelchair around the zoo. It was quite a workout, actually. I was sore for days! We were able to get really close to some giraffes, so I put a picture below.

Micah LOVED swimming at my parents house nearly everyday of the trip. He had swimming lessons for a few weeks last summer and did very well. After a few dips in the water he quickly warmed back up to it again and was actually becoming pretty independent. He loved floating in his ring and kicking around the hot tub.

We also got to spend some time visiting with my Uncle Vance and Aunt Anita. As always, Anita took some really great pictures. She is very talented with photography.

G.G. (my grandmother) arrived for the last few days of our trip. Both boys took to her fairly quickly, and she definitely enjoyed the time to play and love on each of them.

How nice to see your again what lovely photos! It's so amazing how you have one son, the spitting image of his Pinky-Mamma, and his brother, his father's twin! They are too adorable. I'm glad you had such a wonderful getaway. Next time you go, we should coordinate. Steve has half his family down in Tampa too! xox
